The Umbrella Research Group is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, scientific rigor, and ethical authorship. To ensure transparency, credibility, and responsible scholarly communication, the following policies apply to all research outputs associated with the group.
Journal selection
The group prioritises publication in indexed, high‑impact, peer‑reviewed, and reputable journals recognised within the scientific community. Journals or publishers listed on Beall’s List of Predatory Journals are not encouraged as publication venues for the group‑related research. This safeguard preserves the quality and reputation of the group’s scientific contributions.
ORCiD requirement
All authors must include their ORCID iD in every publication. This ensures accurate attribution, enhances transparency, and supports the traceability of scholarly output associated with the group.
Funding and Disclosures
All publications must explicitly include:
- Acknowledgements of facilities and collaborators.
- Funding Disclosure detailing all financial support.
- Competing Interests Statement declaring any conflicts.
Non‑compliance and exclusions
If a manuscript does not comply with the group’s publication policies:
- The group must not be cited in any non-compliant paper.
- Publication will not be included in the group's officias list of publication.
Authorship criteria
Membership in the Umbrella Research Group does not guarantee authorship. To be listed as an author, an individual must have made a substantial, active, and verifiable contribution to the research. The group opposes courtesy or inflated authorship practices, requiring meaningful input in conception, execution, or analysis.
Author Contribution Statement
Every publication must include a detailed Author Contribution Statement, following recognized standards such as the CRediT taxonomy. Contributions should be clearly assigned across roles such as methodology, analysis, and supervision.
Citation of the Research Group
The Umbrella Research Group must be acknowledged when the work directly benefits from group resources or collaboration efforts.
- Publication originates from the group's initiative.
- Includes contribution from group's personnel.
- Direct benefit from collaborative resources.
